The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 1 results have been postponed and are now expected to be released by 16 February 2026 on the official portal jeemain.nta.nic.in, following confirmation from the National Testing Agency (NTA). The delay comes after student queries and ongoing answer key review processes.

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Results Delayed; NTA Confirms New Date

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reaffirmed that the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results — initially anticipated earlier this week — will now be declared by 16 February 2026. This confirmation follows queries from candidates regarding the result release timeline. JEE Main is the national engineering entrance test for admission to undergraduate programmes like BTech, BArch and BPlanning at institutions including NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes. Thousands of students who appeared for the Session 1 exam in January 2026 are awaiting their scorecards and rankings.

Why Was the JEE Main 2026 Result Date Changed?

While initial notices suggested results might be published around 12 February 2026, the NTA has revised this schedule. The revision allows additional time for answer key review and finalisation of candidate responses following the closure of the challenge window against the provisional key. The session examinations were conducted in computer-based mode between 21 and 29 January 2026, with multiple shifts for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech).

How to Check the JEE Main 2026 Result?

Once the NTA activates the result link, candidates will be able to view and download their JEE Main 2026 Session 1 scorecards by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official JEE Main result portal jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  2. Click on the “JEE (Main) 2026 Result” or “View Scorecard” link once it appears.
  3. Enter your application number, date of birth and password.
  4. Download the scorecard and save the PDF for future admission processes.

The scorecard will typically detail the candidate’s marks, percentile score, All-India Rank (AIR) and subject-wise performance.

What Happens Next After JEE Main 2026 Results?

After the JEE Main Session 1 results are declared, qualified candidates—especially the top 2.5 lakh performers will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026 registration and further rounds of the admission process. Final answer keys and official cut-offs are likely to be released alongside or just prior to the result declaration. Students not satisfied with their Session 1 performance can also appear for JEE Main Session 2 later in 2026 to improve their percentile and rank for better admission prospects.

JEE Main 2026 Important Notes for Aspirants

  • Candidates must keep their login credentials handy to download the scorecard.
  • The result link will be activated only on official JEE Main portals.
