The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the provisional JEE Main 2026 Session 1 answer key and response sheet in early February 2026. Candidates will be able to download the PDF files from jeemain.nta.nic.in and challenge answers within the objection window.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to publish the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 provisional answer key and response sheet for candidates who will appear in the entrance exam scheduled from 21 January to 29 January 2026. The documents will be made available on the official portal jeemain.nta.nic.in once released.

 

JEE Main 2026 Provisional Answer Key Release Timeline

The provisional answer key for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 is expected to be issued in the first week of February 2026. Along with the answer key, NTA will also upload the response sheet PDF, which will show the answers marked by each candidate during the examination. These releases will help aspirants calculate probable scores and analyse their performance before the official result declaration.

 

Steps to Download JEE Main 2026 Answer Key and Response Sheet

Candidates will be able to access the documents by following these steps once the link becomes active. First, they will need to visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. After that, they must locate the link for “JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Provisional Answer Key/Response Sheet” on the homepage. Then, candidates will have to enter their application number and other required login credentials. After submission, the answer key and response sheet PDF will appear on the screen for download. It is advised that candidates keep a saved copy for future admission and counselling processes.

 

Objection Window and Answer Key Challenge Process

After the provisional key is released, NTA will open an objection window for a limited period, usually lasting two to three days. During this time, candidates will be allowed to challenge any answer they find incorrect. A processing fee per question will be applicable, and all objections will be reviewed by subject experts before the final answer key is prepared.

 

Expected Cut-Off and Next Steps

The final cut-off for JEE Main 2026 will become clearer after the final answer key is published. Based on the final evaluation, NTA will declare the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results and scorecards shortly afterward. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate engineering programmes will need to track upcoming announcements related to results, counselling schedules, and merit lists on the official portal
