The National Testing Agency has released the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 admit cards along with the official exam schedule. Candidates who have registered for the examination can now download their admit cards from the official website using their application number and date of birth. The admit card contains important details such as exam date, shift timing, reporting time, centre address, and exam day instructions.
As per the official notification, JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be conducted on 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28 January 2026. The exam will be held in two shifts each day.
JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam Schedule
The paper-wise exam schedule for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 has been confirmed by NTA. Paper 1 will be conducted in both morning and afternoon shifts, while Paper 2 exams will be held in a single shift.
Paper 1 (BE/BTech)
- The first shift will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
- The second shift will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Paper 2A (BArch), Paper 2B (BPlanning), and Paper 2A & 2B
- These papers will be conducted on 29 January 2026 in a single shift from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
Candidates must check their admit card carefully, as the exact date and shift are mentioned individually for each candidate.
JEE Main 2026 Reporting Time and Gate Closing Time
Candidates must strictly follow the reporting schedule mentioned on the admit card. Entry inside the examination centre will not be allowed after gate closing time.
- For Shift 1, reporting time is from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, and gates will close at 8:30 AM.
- For Shift 2, reporting time is from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, and gates will close at 2:30 PM.
Instructions by the invigilator will be given between 8:30 AM and 8:50 AM for the morning shift and 2:30 PM to 2:50 PM for the afternoon shift.
JEE Main 2026 Exam Duration Details
The duration of the examination depends on the paper chosen by the candidate.
- Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be conducted for 3 hours.
- Paper 2A (BArch) or Paper 2B (BPlanning) will also have a duration of 3 hours.
- Candidates appearing for both Paper 2A and 2B will get 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Some architecture and planning papers may extend up to 12:30 PM or 6:30 PM, depending on the paper combination.
Important Exam Day Instructions for JEE Main 2026
Candidates must carry a printed copy of the JEE Main 2026 admit card along with one valid photo ID proof. Passport-size photographs must also be carried as per instructions. Candidates should reach the centre well before the reporting time to complete biometric verification.
Electronic devices, calculators, watches, bags, and other prohibited items are strictly not allowed. Candidates arriving after gate closing time will not be permitted to enter the examination centre under any circumstances.
