NTA has introduced face authentication and Aadhaar-based biometric verification for JEE Main 2026 Session 1. The enhanced security measures will apply to exams scheduled on 28 January 2026 and 29 January 2026. Candidates are advised to reach exam centres early to complete mandatory verification procedures.
The National Testing Agency has announced additional security measures for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examinations scheduled on 28 January 2026 and 29 January 2026. Candidates appearing on these dates will be required to undergo face authentication along with Aadhaar-based biometric verification at the examination centres. These measures have been introduced to strengthen exam security and ensure fairness across all centres.
JEE Main 2026 Face Authentication and Biometric Verification Process
Face authentication will be conducted through live facial recognition at the entry point of the examination centre. In addition, Aadhaar-based biometric verification, including fingerprint or iris scanning where applicable, will also be carried out for identity confirmation. Due to the additional verification steps, candidates are advised to arrive at the examination centre well before the reporting time mentioned on their admit cards to avoid delays.
Important Instructions for JEE Main 2026 Candidates
To ensure a smooth verification process, candidates should take note of the following instructions issued by the examination authority. Candidates must ensure that their Aadhaar details are accurate and accessible on the day of the exam. They should follow all instructions provided by centre officials and remain patient during the verification process, as the checks are mandatory for entry. Failure to complete the authentication process may result in delays or denial of entry to the examination hall.
Purpose of Enhanced Security Measures in JEE Main 2026
The introduction of face authentication and biometric verification is part of ongoing efforts to uphold the credibility, transparency, and integrity of national-level entrance examinations. These steps aim to prevent impersonation and ensure that only eligible candidates appear for the test. The agency has requested full cooperation from candidates to ensure smooth implementation of the new system.
What Candidates Should Do Before Exam Day?
Candidates appearing on 28 and 29 January 2026 are advised to review their admit card instructions carefully and plan their travel to the exam centre accordingly. Reaching the centre early will help complete verification procedures without last-minute stress. Candidates should continue to monitor official notifications for any further updates related to JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examinations.
