The National Testing Agency has announced the expected result dates for JEE Main 2026. Session 1 results are scheduled to be declared by 12 February 2026. Final ranks will be released only after Session 2, considering the best of two attempts.

JEE Main 2026 Result Date: Session 1 and Session 2 Timeline

The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination is being conducted by the National Testing Agency from 21 January 2026 to 29 January 2026. After the conclusion of the examination, the agency will release the answer keys followed by the result declaration as per the official schedule. According to the information brochure, the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 result is expected to be announced by 12 February 2026.

JEE Main 2026 Result Dates for Both Sessions

The National Testing Agency has provided a tentative result timeline for both sessions of JEE Main 2026. Candidates should note that percentile scores are released after each session, while final ranks are declared only after Session 2.

  • Session 1 Result Date: By 12 February 2026
  • Session 2 Result Date: By 20 April 2026

Ranks will be calculated after the April session by considering the best score out of two attempts.

JEE Main 2026 Answer Key Release Timeline

Before the result declaration, the testing agency will publish the provisional answer key, followed by a final answer key after addressing objections raised by candidates. The provisional answer key for Session 1 is expected to be released around 1–2 February 2026. A short objection window will be provided, after which the final answer key will be published in the first week of February 2026. The result will be prepared strictly based on the final answer key.

How JEE Main 2026 Results Are Declared

The JEE Main result is released in the form of NTA scores or percentiles, not raw marks. These percentiles reflect a candidate’s relative performance compared to others who appeared in the same shift. This method ensures fairness by neutralising variations in difficulty levels across different exam shifts.

When Will JEE Main 2026 Ranks Be Released?

Candidates will not receive ranks after Session 1. The All India Rank (AIR) will be declared only after Session 2 results are announced in April 2026. The ranking process considers:

  • Best percentile score among the two sessions
  • Normalised scores across shifts
  • Category-wise eligibility criteria

What Candidates Should Do After Session 1 Result?

Once the Session 1 result is declared, candidates can assess their percentile and decide whether to appear again in Session 2, scheduled from 2 April 2026 to 9 April 2026. Appearing in both sessions provides an opportunity to improve scores, as only the best performance will be used for ranking and admission processes. Candidates are advised to regularly monitor official notifications for updates related to results, answer keys, and counselling schedules.
