JEE Main 2026 Registration to Close on Nov 27, NTA Issues New Rules

The National Testing Agency will close the JEE Main 2026 registration for session one on November 27, 2025. As of 19 November 2025, the registration window remains active at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The form-filling process has seen new updates this year, including stricter identity checks and revised upload rules.

Candidates are advised to complete the application as early as possible to avoid last-minute technical issues. The authority is unlikely to extend the deadline, as observed in previous cycles.

JEE Main 2026 Registration Details and Deadline

The agency is conducting the JEE Mains 2026 registration for session one through the official portal. The last date to submit the application form is November 27, 2025. The process involves registration, form completion, live photo capture, and fee payment.

Candidates must follow the updated NTA instructions carefully, as several steps have changed this year.

What’s New in the JEE Main 2026 Application Process

The application process includes several newly introduced checks. These updates aim to strengthen verification and reduce errors during registration.

Here are the new features introduced for JEE Main 2026:

  • Mandatory live photo capture during registration through a webcam
  • Automatic identity verification
  • Aadhaar address-based exam centre allocation
  • Revised file sizes: photo (ten KB–two hundred KB), signature (ten KB–one hundred KB)
  • PwD applicants must upload UDID certificates in PDF format (fifty KB–three hundred KB)
  • No correction option for photos after submission

These changes make the process more structured and reduce the chances of mismatch or rejection.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Schedule for Both Sessions

The National Testing Agency has announced the full schedule for the entrance test. The exam will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode across various centres nationwide.

Below is a short overview of the schedule:

  • Session one:January 21 to January 30, 2026
  • Session two:April 2 to April 9, 2026

The test will be conducted in thirteen languages, including English, Hindi, and several regional languages. This ensures wider accessibility for students from all states.

Key Points Candidates Should Remember

Before completing the final submission, applicants must ensure all information is accurate. The addition of live photo capture and automatic verification makes proper documentation essential.

  • Keep Aadhaar details updated for accurate centre allocation
  • Prepare the required documents in the prescribed file sizes
  • Review the application carefully since photo correction is unavailable
  • Submit the form at least two to three days before the deadline (November 27, 2025)
