JEE Main 2026 Registration Open: New Rules, Documents, and Last Date

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the JEE Main 2026 registration process for Session 1. The application form is now available on the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in. As per the official schedule, the last date to submit the application form is November 27, 2025. The first session of JEE Main 2026 will be conducted from January 21 to 30, 2026. This year, NTA has introduced several important changes to make the registration process more transparent and secure, including live photo capture and Aadhaar/DigiLocker-based identity verification.

 

JEE Main 2026: Key Updates in Registration Process

For the 2026 session, NTA has revised the registration process with enhanced identity verification measures. Candidates must keep the following updated documents ready before starting the registration:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • UDID Card (for Persons with Disabilities)
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)

It is now mandatory for all applicants to verify their identity through Aadhaar or DigiLocker while completing the JEE Main 2026 application.

 

JEE Main 2026 Application Process Explained

The JEE Main 2026 registration involves multiple steps, from creating an account to submitting the final application form. Below is a step-by-step guide to help candidates complete the process accurately:

  • Step 1: Registration Visit the official NTA JEE website and complete the registration by entering the required details. Create a password of choice to generate the system-generated JEE Main 2026 application number.
  • Step 2: Application Form Filling Enter personal, academic, and contact details, and choose preferred exam centres. Candidates must also capture a live photograph using a webcam or mobile camera via QR code scanning.
  • Step 3: Document Upload Upload a live photo, scanned photograph, signature, and identity proof (if verification is not done through Aadhaar/DigiLocker).
  • Step 4: Fee Payment Pay the application fee online using a credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI. Ensure payment is successful before proceeding.
  • Step 5: Download Confirmation Page After successful submission, download and save the acknowledgement form for future reference. This serves as proof of successful registration.
