JEE Main 2026 Registration Live – Apply by Nov 27, Key Updates & Dates

The NTA has started registration for JEE Main 2026 (Session 1). The application window closes on 27 November 2025. The correction window opens from 1–2 December 2025.

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2024 or 2025, or will appear in 2026, are eligible.
  • Physics & Mathematics are compulsory; in addition, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical-Vocational subjects are required.
  • No minimum age limit has been specified.

 

JEE Main 2026 Application Process

  • The application is conducted online via the official site: jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Steps:
    1. Register with basic details (name, DOB, email, mobile)
    2. Log in using the credentials created
    3. Fill in the application form (personal, academic, exam preferences)
    4. Upload required documents (photo, signature, Class 10 certificate, etc.)
    5. Pay the application fee online and submit the form
    6. Download and keep the confirmation page for future reference

Application Fee (indicative):

  • General Category (Male): INR 1000
  • Gen-EWS/OBC Category (Male): INR 900
  • Female candidates (Unreserved/Gen-EWS/OBC): INR 800
  • SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: INR 500

 

JEE Main 2026 Exam Pattern

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT) for most papers.
  • Session 1 exam dates: 21–30 January 2026
  • Session 2 dates: 2–9 April 2026
  • Additional updates: No calculator will be allowed during the exam (despite earlier mention) — NTA clarified the mention of “onscreen standard calculator” as a typographical error.

 

JEE Main 2026 Result and Counselling

After the exam, the JEE Main 2026 results will be published on the official website. Qualified candidates will become eligible for further admission processes into participating engineering institutions (NITs, IIITs, etc.). The results for Session 1 are expected around 12 February 2026.
