JEE Main 2026 Registration Ends Soon: NTA Issues Key Guidelines

The National Testing Agency has announced that the JEE Main 2026 registration for session one will close on November twenty seven, marking a crucial window for engineering aspirants across the country. With the first session scheduled for early January, the authority has urged applicants to complete the form-filling process before the deadline to avoid system-related delays. This year, the agency has introduced mandatory live-photo capture, a new security feature added to strengthen verification during registration. The exam centre allocation will be processed according to the candidate’s current or permanent address, ensuring greater logistical convenience.

JEE Main 2026 Session One Registration: Steps and Required Tasks

Before proceeding with the registration steps, applicants must understand the sequence of actions involved, as the form requires identity verification, academic details, and document uploads in a single session. Missing any stage may result in an incomplete application, which the system will not accept. The following steps outline the registration workflow for JEE Main 2026 session one:

  • Visit the official portal.
  • Select the JEE Main 2026 registration option.
  • Complete the basic registration to generate login credentials.
  • Re-login to fill in academic and personal information.
  • Upload required documents, including live-photo capture.
  • Pay the prescribed fee in INR.
  • Submit the application and download the confirmation slip.

These steps reflect the structured registration process followed by the NTA every year.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2026: Key Points for Applicants

Before reviewing eligibility, it is important to understand that the test assesses students from varied academic backgrounds who have completed or are pursuing higher secondary education. The NTA has retained a broad eligibility framework to ensure wider participation. The JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria include the following:

  • Students must have appeared for or completed Class twelve in twenty twenty four, twenty twenty five, or twenty twenty six.
  • There is no upper-age limit for the examination.
  • No minimum marks in Class twelve are required to apply.
  • Candidates from all recognised educational boards are permitted to apply.

These points reaffirm that the exam remains open to a broad segment of engineering aspirants nationwide.

Form Correction Schedule and Additional Instructions

Before the correction window opens, applicants must keep their application number and login credentials ready, as the edit portal requires precise authentication. The NTA has confirmed that the JEE Main 2026 correction window for session one will be available from December one to December two, allowing applicants to rectify errors in uploaded details or personal information. Only limited fields can be edited, and the agency has advised applicants to verify all entries, especially photographs, category certificates, and academic records.
