NTA JEE Main 2026 Registration Highlights

NTA released the first public notice for JEE Main 2026 on September 29, 2025, confirming that registration would begin in October. The agency also announced the exam schedule and a few key changes in the registration process this year.

Major Change in Registration Process

One of the most significant updates this year is the introduction of the auto-fetch feature using Aadhaar authentication. This new system will automatically pull candidate details — such as name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and address — directly from UIDAI’s database. NTA officials stated that this move aims to simplify the registration process, reduce errors, and ensure faster verification for all applicants. The agency also confirmed that the number of exam cities will be increased to provide better accessibility for aspirants from rural and remote regions. Additionally, NTA highlighted its focus on improving facilities for PwD and PwBD candidates in JEE Main 2026, including enhanced accessibility features at examination centers.
