JEE Main 2026 Registration Advisory: Update Documents Before Applying

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a crucial advisory for students planning to appear for JEE Main 2026. The exam will be conducted in two sessions: January 2026 and April 2026, and the online application for the first session will open in October 2025 on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Students have been urged to ensure that their key documents are updated and accurate to avoid any difficulties during registration or admission.

Documents to Update Before JEE Main 2026 Registration

Candidates must ensure the following documents are valid and up to date before applying for the exam:

  • Aadhaar Card: Name, date of birth (as per Class 10 certificate), latest photograph, address, and father’s name must be correct.
  • UDID Card (Persons with Disabilities): Ensure validity and renewal if required.
  • Category Certificate: Candidates applying under EWS, SC, ST, or OBC-NCL must have a valid and updated certificate.

Mistakes in any of these documents may lead to rejection of the application or problems in the later admission process. Early updates help avoid last-minute issues.

JEE Main 2026 Registration Process

Candidates can register for JEE Main 2026 by following the official process:

  1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in for registration.
  2. Complete personal and academic details using valid documents.
  3. Upload necessary certificates and photograph.
  4. Pay the application fee online and submit the form.

NTA has advised students to regularly check nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in for updates, notices, and important dates.

Significance of JEE Main 2026

The JEE Main exam serves as the gateway for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutes. It also acts as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, which enables admission to the IITs. Candidates aiming for these prestigious institutes must ensure all documents are updated well in advance and stay informed about NTA announcements to avoid registration complications.
