The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE Main 2026 examination tomorrow across designated centres. Ahead of the test, the agency has issued important exam-day guidelines covering dress code, reporting time, barred items, frisking rules, and documents required at the exam centre.Candidates are required to strictly follow these instructions to ensure smooth entry and participation in the examination.

 

JEE Main 2026 Reporting Time and Entry Instructions

Candidates appearing for JEE Main 2026 must report to their allotted examination centres well before the gate closing time mentioned on the admit card. Late entry will not be permitted under any circumstances.Before entering the exam hall, candidates will undergo mandatory security checks and frisking. Identity verification and biometric attendance may also be conducted as part of the standard procedure.

 

JEE Main 2026 Dress Code for Male and Female Candidates

NTA has prescribed a strict dress code to maintain exam integrity. Candidates must wear simple clothing without accessories or metallic items.For male candidates, full-sleeve shirts, jackets, caps, and shoes with thick soles should be avoided. Female candidates are advised not to wear jewellery, hair accessories with metal parts, or outfits with embroidery and buttons. Simple sandals or slippers are recommended for all candidates.

 

Items Allowed and Barred Inside the Exam Centre

Candidates are allowed to carry only essential documents and permitted items to the exam hall. Any prohibited item found during frisking may lead to disqualification.Items generally not allowed include mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, electronic devices, wallets, bags, books, notes, and stationery beyond what is permitted. Food items and beverages are also restricted, except where specifically allowed.

 

Documents to Carry for JEE Main 2026 Exam

Every candidate must carry a printed copy of the JEE Main 2026 admit card along with a valid photo identity proof as specified in the exam instructions. Without these documents, entry to the examination centre will not be permitted.Candidates should also follow any additional instructions printed on the admit card carefully.

 

Frisking Rules and Toilet Break Guidelines

NTA has clarified that frisking checks will be conducted to ensure exam security. Toilet breaks may be permitted only under supervision and in accordance with exam centre rules. Candidates are advised to use facilities before entering the examination hall to avoid inconvenience.The JEE Main 2026 exam-day guidelines are mandatory for all candidates. Strict adherence will help ensure a fair and smooth conduct of the national-level engineering entrance examination.
