The JEE Main 2026 April 6 Shift 2 exam concluded at 6 PM. Students can now access a detailed paper review, memory-based questions, and solutions. The shift 1 exam was already marked moderate to tough, with lengthy Maths questions and moderate Physics and Chemistry.

JEE Main 2026 April 6 Shift 2 Exam Ends: Paper Analysis & Solutions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the JEE Main April 6 Shift 2 exam, which ended at 6 PM. This session followed the earlier morning Shift 1 (9 AM–12 PM), considered the toughest so far in Session 2, with students reporting a moderate to tough overall difficulty.

 

JEE Main 2026 April 6 Shift 1 Paper Analysis

  • Mathematics: Moderate and lengthy; key topics included Vectors and 3D, Conic Sections, Matrices, Integration, Quadratic Equations, Calculus, Limits, Functions, and GP.
  • Physics: Moderate and calculative; covered Electric Field, Ray Optics, Refraction, Error, Rotation, Elasticity, SHM, Current Electricity, Heat, and Thermodynamics.
  • Chemistry: Moderate with some tricky questions; Physical Chemistry numericals were calculative and lengthy, covering Chemical Kinetics, Chain Reactions, Boiling Point, and Molar Mass.
  • Overall: Shift 1 considered moderate to tough, toughest shift of the session.

For 99 percentile in Shift 1, candidates needed around 160 marks out of 300.

 

What to Expect in JEE Main 2026 Shift 2 Analysis?

  • Complete memory-based questions and solutions will be available after 6 PM.
  • Students can compare difficulty level across shifts and estimate percentiles.
  • Maths is expected to remain lengthy, while Physics and Chemistry are likely moderate.

 

JEE Main 2026 Qualifying Marks (Session 2)

The official qualifying marks for JEE Main 2026 will be released by NTA along with the Session 2 results, expected around April 20, 2026.
