JEE Main 2026 Registration Process Explained
Before starting the application, candidates should understand the complete process. This year, NTA has added Aadhaar-based validation and mandatory live photo capture to strengthen accuracy and reduce errors during registration. The process includes registration, form-filling, photo capture, document upload, and fee payment. Candidates should ensure that all entries match their official documents, especially Aadhaar details, as discrepancies may cause application rejection.
- Registration: Enter basic details and create a secure password. A system-generated application number will be issued.
- Form Filling: Provide personal details, academic information, select exam cities, and complete a mandatory live photo capture using a webcam or mobile camera.
- Document Upload: Upload scanned photograph, signature, and valid identity proof. Identity documents other than Aadhaar or DigiLocker must be scanned and uploaded clearly.
- Fee Payment: Pay the required fee using Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
Key Dates and NTA Guidelines for JEE Main 2026
Before reviewing the timeline, candidates should know that NTA will offer a one-time correction window after the registration period. However, only limited fields can be edited, and no new documents can be added after submission.
NTA has advised applicants to keep scanned documents, category certificates, and updated photographs ready before applying. The exam will be conducted in thirteen languages, ensuring wider accessibility for candidates across the country.
