The National Testing Agency (NTA) opened the JEE Main 2026 application form correction window for Session-1 candidates from 1 to 2 December 2025. Applicants could log in and modify several details like personal information, exam city, and documents. Photo corrections require a separate facility.

JEE Main 2026 Application Form & Image Correction: Dates & Rules

The National Testing Agency (NTA) provided a limited period for candidates to edit their JEE Main 2026 application form to rectify errors after initial submission. The correction facility for Session-1 opened between 1 and 2 December 2025 on the official portal jeemain.nta.nic.in. This correction opportunity allowed candidates to ensure the accuracy of critical details before the exam, reducing the risk of discrepancies that could affect eligibility or exam centre allocation.

Correction Window Dates for JEE Main 2026

The NTA enabled the official JEE Main 2026 form correction window for a short duration to help candidates fix mistakes in their submitted application forms:

  • Form correction window: 1 December 2025 to 2 December 2025 (till 11:50 PM)
  • This period was accessible only through the official login portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Candidates were advised to make all necessary edits within this timeframe since no further corrections would be entertained later.

What Can Be Edited in the JEE Main 2026 Form?

During the correction window, candidates could update several details, including:

  • Candidate’s name, father’s name and mother’s name
  • Category and sub-category / PwD status
  • Exam city preferences and the medium of examination
  • Academic qualification information for Class 10 and Class 12
  • Paper choices and other personal details

However, some fields could not be changed, such as mobile number, email address, permanent or present address, date of birth, photograph, and signature during this correction period.

JEE Main 2026: Image Correction & Photo Guidelines

Although the main correction facility allowed certain form edits, photograph changes were restricted during the initial correction window. As per the updated guidelines for JEE Main 2026, candidates were generally not permitted to change the uploaded photograph during the form correction period, but a separate photo correction facility may be provided later by the NTA. This means applicants should carefully follow future official updates regarding opportunities to correct images or upload new photos if needed.

JEE Main 2026: Steps to Make Corrections

To edit the application form, candidates needed to follow this process:

  1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and go to the Login section.
  2. Enter the application number and password to access the dashboard.
  3. Click on the correction in the application form link.
  4. Make necessary changes and verify details carefully.
  5. Submit the modified form and download the updated confirmation page for records.

Candidates were recommended to save the revised confirmation page, as it reflects the final information submitted before the exam.

JEE Main 2026: Important Points to Note

  • The correction window was a one-time facility, so edits had to be final and accurate.
  • Certain changes, such as category or exam city update, might require additional fee payment.
  • Applicants were advised to monitor the official portal closely for any further updates related to image corrections or future sessions.

Ensuring that the JEE Main application form contains correct and complete details is crucial for smooth participation in the examination and subsequent processes, including admit card release and eligibility verification.
