The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 provisional answer key and response sheet on jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can challenge the answer keys until 6 February 2026, and the results are expected by 12 February 2026.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 provisional answer key and response sheet for the engineering entrance examination on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates who appeared for the exam in January 2026 can now view and download these documents to calculate their probable scores ahead of the final results.

 

Provisional Answer Key and Response Sheet Availability

The NTA has uploaded the provisional answer key along with the question papers and recorded response sheets for JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (BE/BTech). Candidates must log in using their application number and password to download and review these documents. This step allows aspirants to assess their tentative performance before the result is published.

 

How to Challenge JEE Main 2026 Answer Key?

Candidates who find discrepancies in the provisional answer key can submit objections through the official challenge link on the portal. The objection window is open until 6 February 2026 (11:50 PM). To raise a challenge, candidates need to:

  • Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the Answer Key Challenge link
  • Log in with application number and password
  • Select the questions they wish to challenge
  • Upload supporting documents if required
  • Pay the non-refundable fee of INR 200 per question challenged online.

Only paid challenges submitted within the stipulated timeline will be accepted. Once the objection period closes, subject experts will review all valid challenges, and a final answer key will be prepared.

 

JEE Main 2026 Result Date and Next Steps

Based on the final answer key, NTA is expected to announce the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 result by 12 February 2026. The result will include subject‑wise and overall percentiles, enabling candidates to estimate their admission prospects for engineering programmes. Candidates should retain copies of their response sheets and provisional answer keys for reference during counselling and admission rounds. Regular updates on result declaration, cut‑off marks, and counselling schedules will be published on the official JEE Main portal.
