Jammu & Kashmir Bank has officially launched the application process for a total of 614 apprentice positions as part of the J&K Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026. The online registration period is set from April 20 to April 26, 2026, providing a limited window for interested candidates to apply.

 

The recruitment initiative is conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and aims to engage candidates for a one-year training program through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). Selected apprentices will be assigned to various branches and offices of the Bank, based on operational requirements.

 

The vacancies are distributed across multiple locations, including:

  • Jammu & Kashmir
  • Union Territory of Ladakh
  • Major cities outside the region such as Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and Mohali

 

It is important to note that the number of vacancies is provisional and may be subject to change based on the Bank's operational needs.

 

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the J&K Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • ₹4,500 as the government’s share, provided through Direct Benefit Transfer

 

Additionally, apprentices may be eligible for a conveyance allowance of up to ₹1,250 per month. However, it is crucial to understand that this apprenticeship does not guarantee employment, and candidates will be relieved after the completion of the training period.

 

Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the apprentice positions will be based on a single-stage online written examination, which will carry a total of 100 marks. The exam will consist of:

  • General Awareness and English Comprehension (50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes)
  • Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability (50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes)

 

Key points regarding the examination include:

  • A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Unanswered questions will not incur any penalty.

 

Based on the performance in this examination, the Bank will compile a merit list categorized by district, region, and category. In cases where candidates achieve identical scores, the older candidate will be prioritized. Furthermore, a waitlist of up to 50% of the notified vacancies will be maintained for one year or until the next recruitment cycle.
