Jamia Millia Islamia Admissions 2026–27 Open With 30 New Courses

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has formally launched the admissions process for the 2026–27 academic session, unveiling a broadened academic portfolio and confirming that course fees will remain unchanged for the new year. The university’s comprehensive prospectus was released today, detailing admissions across undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate and advanced diploma programmes.

JMI Admissions 2026–27 Key Highlights

The 2026–27 admissions cycle at JMI introduces several major developments designed to expand access and flexibility for students:

  • 30 New Programmes Added: A wider range of courses has been introduced across disciplines including humanities, science, engineering, law, architecture, hotel management and vocational studies.
  • No Fee Increase for 2026–27: The university has confirmed that tuition fees for all courses will not be raised for the upcoming session, keeping education affordable.
  • Multiple Entry Mode for FYUP: In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, JMI has started admissions under a multiple entry mode for the Four‑Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), offering academic flexibility.
  • Organised Application Categories: Applications are structured under four categories — General university programmes, CUET‑based programmes, BTech/BArch streams, and multiple entry NEP category.

Application & Exam Centres Expansion

The university has opened the JMI application portal for 2026–27 admissions. Prospective students can apply online for courses that are based on qualifying tests such as CUET‑UG, JEE Main, NATA, NEET, as well as programmes requiring JMI’s own entrance exams. To improve access for aspirants, JMI has increased the number of entrance exam centres to 11, adding new locations including Jaipur, Dehradun and Kishanganj to existing centres like Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati and Kolkata.

Prospectus & Admission Process

The detailed JMI admission prospectus 2026–27 outlines eligibility criteria, course structures, exam requirements and application deadlines. It serves as a guide for students applying through different streams — including national‑level tests like CUET UG 2026, which remains a key pathway for many undergraduate seats. The multiple entry feature under FYUP allows students to exit and re‑enter the programme at defined stages, providing more academic mobility and alignment with evolving career goals.

What Students Should Know?

Applicants planning to seek admission at JMI for 2026–27 must:

  • Choose the appropriate category (CUET, general, BTech/BArch or NEP multiple entry).

The decision to maintain fee levels at the previous rate while introducing new programmes and entry flexibility reflects JMI’s effort to balance quality education with affordability and wider inclusion.
