IP University to Hold Special Round Offline Counselling Sept 17

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), a state-run institution in Delhi, has announced that it will conduct a special round offline counselling for admission to the Para-Medical programme (Code 124) on September 17, 2025.

Priority for Entrance Tests

According to the university, admissions will be based on merit, with priority given to national-level entrance examinations, followed by the university’s own entrance test and CUET scores. Candidates who applied under CUET will be able to check the merit list on the official university website before appearing for the counselling.

Admission Basis for IPU Programmes

The counselling process reflects GGSIPU’s policy of considering multiple entrance exam results for admission across programmes. For instance, BTech admissions are carried out through Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) scores.

Offline Counselling Details

The special round of counselling will be held offline, unlike the earlier phases, which were largely conducted in online mode. This move is expected to help candidates who could not secure seats during the initial rounds or who were left out of the online process. The university has not only released the schedule but also clarified that candidates must bring all necessary documents for verification. Counselling will be carried out on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to seat availability.

Importance of the Special Round

Special counselling rounds are often introduced to ensure that vacant seats are filled before the academic session begins. For the Para-Medical programme, this round provides another opportunity for students who qualified through CUET and other tests to secure admission.

Steps for Students Attending Counselling

Candidates planning to attend the special round should:

  • Visit the official GGSIPU website for the merit list.
  • Carry all original academic documents, entrance test scorecards, and ID proof.
  • Report on time at the designated counselling venue.
  • Pay the admission fee after seat confirmation.
