The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has announced admissions for its newly launched online master’s programs, including M.Tech, M.Sc., and Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma) courses designed for working professionals and lifelong learners.
Program Overview
The programs combine digital learning flexibility with IIT Kanpur’s academic rigor, preparing students for leadership roles in technology, economics, and emerging fields. Prof. Vimal Kumar, Professor-in-Charge of IIT Kanpur’s Office of Outreach Activities, highlighted that the courses allow learners to enhance their expertise while continuing professional commitments. The programs include:
- M.Tech (Online): Wireless Networks & Machine Learning, RF Engineering, Microelectronics & VLSI
- M.Sc. (Online): Economics, Data Analytics
- PG Diplomas (Online): Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Renewable Energy Technologies
Eligibility and Admission
- Minimum CPI of 5.5 or 55% marks in qualifying degree
- Admission via national-level tests (GATE, JAM, CEED, CAT, GRE, GMAT) or IIT Kanpur’s online entrance test
- Departments may set additional requirements: relevant academic background, experience, extra test/interview
- Exemptions apply for professionals with 5+ years experience or those sponsored by government/defense organizations
