IIT Kanpur Begins 2025–26 Placements with Record 672 Job Offers

IIT Kanpur began its 2025–26 placement season with a record 672 job offers on Day 1, marking the highest opening-day performance at the institute. The number of offers is 16% higher than last year, showing strong industry interest and rising demand for IIT-K graduates.

By the end of Day 1, a total of 627 students secured jobs, including 253 pre-placement offers (PPOs). This represents a 20% rise in placements compared to the previous year. The growth in PPOs alone stands at 27%, making them a major contributor to the improved results.

The placement drive also saw nine students receiving international offers, highlighting global recruiter interest. IIT-Kanpur reported that the overall number of offers is expected to increase as more companies are scheduled to visit throughout the season.

The institute’s Students’ Placement Office stated that the strong Day-1 performance reflects the dedication of students and the support provided by faculty mentors. The institute credited its sustained industry partnerships for helping attract high-value roles this year.

More than 250 recruiters have shown interest in hiring from IIT Kanpur this placement season. The top recruiters on Day 1 include:

• Airbus
• PwC
• Navi
• Qualcomm
• Deutsche Bank

These companies offered roles across technology, consulting, finance, research, and core engineering domains.

IIT Kanpur said the placement season will continue over the next few weeks. With many students yet to appear for interviews, the institute expects more opportunities and higher final numbers as the drive progresses.
