IIT JAM 2026 Provisional Answer Key Released – Download Link

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has released the IIT JAM 2026 provisional answer key along with candidate response sheets on the official JAM 2026 portal, jam2026.iitb.ac.in. This release allows candidates to cross-check their marked answers against the official provisional key. The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) 2026 examinations were held earlier in February 2026 across multiple test centres for various science subjects. The answer key release is a crucial post-exam activity that helps candidates estimate their likely scores before the final results are declared.

How to Download the JAM 2026 Provisional Answer Key?

Candidates who appeared for the IIT JAM 2026 exam can follow these steps to download the provisional answer key and response sheets:

1. Visit the official IIT JAM 2026 website — jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
2. Navigate to the Answer Key / Response Sheet section on the homepage.
3. Enter your enrolment ID and password/DOB as required.
4. Select the appropriate subject paper and download the PDFs for the provisional answer key and response sheet.
5. These documents will assist candidates in comparing their answers with those reflected in the official key and calculating an estimated score before results are published.

Objection Window for JAM 2026 Answer Key

After the provisional answer key has been released, candidates are usually given a window to raise objections against any of the provisional answers they believe to be incorrect. The objection facility allows candidates to submit supporting evidence for reconsideration and is typically available for a limited time. Candidates are advised to check the official JAM 2026 website for detailed instructions on the objection process, including the last date to submit challenges and any applicable fees.

What Happens Next After Answer Key Release?

Once the objection window closes, the JAM organising institute will scrutinise all challenges and prepare the final answer key, which will form the basis for scoring. The final key is then used to prepare and publish the official JAM 2026 results. The JAM 2026 results are typically announced several weeks after the provisional answer key release and finalisation process. Qualified candidates can use their JAM scores for admission to postgraduate science programmes at participating institutes. Aspirants are encouraged to keep checking jam2026.iitb.ac.in for updates on challenge deadlines, final answer key publication, and result announcements.
