IIT-Hyderabad (IITH) is offering a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in MTech Biotechnology under an ANRF-funded project on “Self-assembly of colloids in designing lightweight solid foams.” Interested candidates meeting eligibility criteria are invited to apply immediately via the official form.

 

Project Overview and Position Details

The JRF position is in the Department of Chemical Engineering, IITH, focusing on the development of lightweight particulate foams using shape-anisotropic colloidal particles. The research includes studying variables such as particle aspect ratio, polymer concentration, freezing rate, and freezing direction, and assessing mechanical and thermal performance in relation to microstructure.

Essential Qualification

MTech/ME in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Material Science & Engineering; or MSc in Physics/Physical Chemistry. Outstanding BTech. candidates in these streams may be considered.

Minimum Performance

CGPA ≥ 6.0 (or 60 %) in all qualifying degrees

Desired Skills

Experience with colloidal synthesis, polymers; proficiency with SEM, microscopy, rheometry; strong analytical and research aptitude

Age Limit

Up to 35 years (relaxable under Government of India norms)
