IIT Guwahati Reschedules GATE 2026 Exam to Avoid UPSC ESE Clash

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has announced a revision in the GATE 2026 exam schedule. The exam, initially set for February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, will now be adjusted to prevent a clash with the UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2026. Candidates can expect a revised timetable soon on the official GATE 2026 portal. The exam will continue to be conducted in two shifts daily, with the morning session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Results are scheduled to be released on March 19, 2026.

GATE 2026 Revised Exam Schedule Overview

To accommodate UPSC ESE 2026, IIT Guwahati has excluded specific papers from the original February 8 schedule. These include CE, EC, EE, GE, GG, IN, ME, and PI papers. The tentative revised date for these papers may be February 6 or February 16, 2026. Candidates are advised to monitor updates on the official website.
