IIT Delhi’s IHFC, Microsoft Launch AI and Data Analytics Courses

The I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi, has announced a partnership with Microsoft and Simplilearn to launch two advanced certificate programmes in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics. The initiative aims to strengthen India’s skilled workforce in emerging technologies and promote industry-ready learning experiences.

IIT Delhi’s New AI and Data Analytics Courses

The newly launched courses — Professional Certificate in Data Analytics, Generative AI, and Adaptive Systems, and Professional Certificate in Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Automation — are designed to blend academic depth with practical industry applications. According to IHFC, the programmes address the growing talent demand in India’s AI and data industry, which is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 34 percent by 2030. Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, CEO of IHFC–TIH, IIT Delhi, said the collaboration aims to provide “industry-relevant and research-backed learning opportunities” to Indian professionals, helping them adapt to the evolving technological landscape.

Curriculum and Learning Outcomes

The first programme focuses on data analytics and generative AI, covering tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python, and IBM modules, along with practical applications in AI-driven analysis and visualization. Learners will also complete a capstone project demonstrating their understanding of responsible AI implementation. The second programme delves into machine learning, intelligent automation, and deep learning, including NLP, computer vision, MLOps, and data science. Participants will work on 12+ projects and access 20 industry-standard tools throughout the course. Both programmes offer masterclasses by IHFC faculty and industry experts, as well as campus immersion opportunities at IIT Delhi. Select innovators may also receive incubation support of up to INR 2 crore to develop their AI-based projects.

Certification and Career Support

Graduates of the programmes will receive a joint certification from IHFC–IIT Delhi and Microsoft, validating their skills in AI, data analytics, and automation. The initiative also includes career mentorship, placement support, and exposure to industry-led projects. Kashyap Dalal, Co-founder and COO of Simplilearn, highlighted that the courses are built to help learners apply generative AI tools to real-world business challenges and foster innovation across multiple sectors. This collaboration between IIT Delhi’s IHFC, Microsoft, and Simplilearn underscores India’s growing commitment to bridging the skill gap in next-generation technologies while creating a globally competitive digital workforce.
