The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has released the UCEED 2026 notification for admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs at top IITs and IIITDM Jabalpur. The application window opened on October 1, 2025, for the undergraduate common entrance exam for design (UCEED 2026). The exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026, from 9 AM to 12 noon across India.
UCEED 2026 is open to candidates from all streams—Science, Commerce, and Arts. The exam has two parts: Part A, a computer-based objective test, and Part B, a pen-and-paper design aptitude task. Only candidates who qualify UCEED 2026 will be eligible for the B.Des joint seat allocation conducted by the participating institutes after results are announced in March 2026.

IIT Bombay UCEED 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates—born on or after October 1, 2001; SC/ST/PwD—born on or after October 1, 1996.
- Number of Attempts: Maximum of two, in consecutive years.
- Qualifying Exam: Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026.
- Streams: Any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts).
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
- Duration: 3 hours, online mode, English medium.
- Total Marks: 300 (two parts).
- Syllabus: Visualization and Spatial Reasoning, Observation and Design Sensitivity, Practical and Scientific Knowledge.
How to Register for IIT Bombay UCEED 2026?
- Visit uceed.iitb.ac.in and click on the registration link.
- Register with a valid email and activate the account.
- Log in and fill personal details including address, category, and contact information.
- Enter Class 10 and Class 12 educational qualifications.
- Select preferred UCEED test centers.
- Upload scanned documents: photo, signature, certificates, ID proof, and category certificate if applicable.
- Pay the application fee online and confirm payment.
- Submit the form and download a copy for reference.
