IIM Indore PGP 2026–28 Admission Criteria Released with New Weights

IIM Indore has released the updated admission criteria for the PGP 2026–28 batch, with notable changes in the evaluation of Class 12 marks and personal interview performance. The institute will follow a three-stage selection process based on CAT 2025, academic scores, work experience, and performance in the personal interview.

 

The institute has also clarified that candidates whose Class 10 or 12 marks were affected by COVID-19 evaluation policies will have their score weight redistributed among other components, including CAT sectional scores and available board marks.

 

IIM Indore PGP 2026 Eligibility and CAT 2025 Cut-Offs

Candidates must appear for CAT 2025 and secure the required sectional and overall percentiles to be considered. The cut-offs for each category are as follows:

  • General, EWS: Overall 90 percentile, and 80 percentile in each section
  • NC-OBC: Overall 80 percentile
  • SC:60 percentile
  • ST, PwD:45 percentile

These scores only determine eligibility, and meeting them does not guarantee shortlisting.

 

IIM Indore Shortlisting Criteria for PGP 2026–28

The shortlisting stage continues to give high weightage to Class 12 marks, which carry 25%, while Class 10 markscarry 10%. The CAT sectional scores account for 55% in the composite score.

 

A brief breakdown is given below:

  • CAT sectional scores: 55%
  • Class 12 marks: 25%
  • Class 10 marks: 10%
  • Work experience: 3%
  • Diversity factor: 7 marks

Shortlisted candidates will receive communication in January 2026. Interviews will be conducted across 7 citiesBengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Depending on circumstances, the interview may also be held online.

 

Final Selection Weightage for PGP 2026–28

In the final stage, the personal interview becomes the most significant component with 45% weightage. CAT sectional scores together make up 40%. Class 10 and 12 marks carry 5% each, and the diversity factor adds 5 marks.

 

Breakdown for the final composite score:

  • Personal Interview: 45%
  • CAT sectional scores: 40%
  • Class 10 marks: 5%
  • Class 12 marks: 5%
  • Diversity factor: 5 marks

IIM Indore has emphasised that candidates must meet minimum standards in each PI parameter. Failing this, a candidate will be disqualified, even if the composite score is high.

 

Reservation Policy for PGP 2026

The institute will follow the Government of India reservation rules:

  • 27% for NC-OBC
  • 15% for SC
  • 7.5% for ST
  • Up to 10% for EWS
  • 5% for PwD

Candidates from all categories must still meet the institute’s prescribed minimum performance standards.

 

Key Note on COVID-Affected Marks

For candidates whose board marks were affected due to COVID-19 evaluation policies, IIM Indore will redistribute weightage proportionally among CAT sectional scores and available academic marks to ensure fair assessment.

 

IIM Indore has also stated that the admission process may be revised if government or institutional guidelines change.
