RTI data released by IIM Indore provides a detailed breakdown of the IPM 2025 selection process. The data highlights intense competition, high sectional cut-offs, and minimal waitlist movement across categories.

IIM Indore IPM RTI Data 2025 Reveals PI Ratio, Cut-Offs, Check Details

The Right to Information (RTI) data released by IIM Indore for the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) 2025 admission cycle offers a detailed view of the selection process. The figures underline that qualifying sectional cut-offs played a decisive role in shortlisting candidates for the Personal Interview (PI) stage. Only a small fraction of applicants progressed beyond the aptitude test stage despite a large pool of registrations.

IPM 2025 Applicant Pool and PI Shortlisting Ratio

According to the RTI disclosure, 16,357 candidates recorded positive scores in all sections of the aptitude test and were considered “active applicants.” Out of this group, only 818 candidates were shortlisted for the Personal Interview round, resulting in a selection ratio of nearly 5%. The General category witnessed the stiffest competition. From 12,132 active General category applicants, just 301 candidates received PI calls, translating to a success rate of approximately 2.5%.

Category-Wise PI Shortlist Data

The RTI data confirms that sectional cut-offs were the primary filtering mechanism. Any candidate scoring zero or negative marks in even one section was eliminated from the shortlist consideration. Across all categories, the Verbal Ability section emerged as the most decisive factor, particularly for General category candidates.

Sectional Cut-Off Trends in IPMAT 2025

The minimum qualifying marks varied significantly by category and section. For the General category, the Verbal Ability cut-off stood at 112 marks, making it the toughest barrier. In the Quantitative Ability (Short Answer) section, General candidates needed 24 marks, while NC-OBC candidates required 12 marks. The data shows that a high overall score was insufficient without clearing each sectional threshold.

ATS Cut-Offs for IPM PI Shortlist 2025

The Aptitude Test Score (ATS) is a normalised score used by IIM Indore and carries 65% weightage in the final selection. The remaining 35% weightage is assigned to the Personal Interview. For the General category, the minimum ATS required for a PI call was 41.56, while the highest ATS reached 89.24, indicating a wide performance gap. NC-OBC candidates had a lower ATS cut-off of 19.83, while the ST category recorded a minimum ATS of 2.30, suggesting that clearing sectional cut-offs was sufficient for shortlisting in that category.

Final Admission Cut-Offs and Composite Scores

The RTI data also revealed the Composite Score (CS) thresholds required for final admission offers. For the General category, the lowest CS for admission was 60.40. This score combines ATS and PI performance. Candidates with lower ATS scores required exceptionally high interview performance to secure admission. For General category aspirants, an ATS of 50 or above appeared to offer a relatively safer conversion zone. The EWS final cut-off stood at 45.49, higher than the NC-OBC cut-off of 41.01, indicating rising competition in the EWS category.

IPM 2025 Waitlist Movement and Offer Yield

To fill 151 seats, IIM Indore issued 176 offers, reflecting a conservative admission strategy. Waitlist movement remained limited across categories. In the General category, 69 offers resulted in 58 final admissions, indicating a movement of 11 candidates. NC-OBC saw a movement of just 5 seats, reinforcing the strong preference for IIM Indore among shortlisted candidates.

Additional Insights from RTI Data

The RTI disclosure also included programme exit and financial aid details. During the 2025–26 academic year, 60 students exercised the exit option after three years. Additionally, only 8 students received need-based financial assistance, with a total disbursal of INR 12,88,828, reflecting strict eligibility criteria.

Conclusion

The IIM Indore IPM RTI Data 2025 clearly shows that the real competition begins after clearing sectional cut-offs. With only 5% of active candidates reaching the PI stage and limited waitlist movement, aspirants must focus on balanced performance across all sections rather than relying solely on high overall scores.
