The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Delhi) hosted its 14th Convocation Ceremony on November 1, 2025, conferring degrees to 780 students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The ceremony celebrated academic achievements and honoured top performers for excellence across various disciplines.
Addressing the event, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and Chancellor Vinai Kumar Saxena congratulated the graduates and acknowledged the efforts of faculty, parents, and mentors in supporting the students’ academic journey.
IIIT Delhi 14th Convocation 2025: Degrees Awarded Across Programmes
A total of 517 students received Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degrees in disciplines such as:
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Electronics and Communications Engineering
- Computer Science and Applied Mathematics
- Computer Science and Design
- Computer Science and Social Sciences
- Computer Science and Biosciences
- Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence
Additionally, 226 students were conferred Master of Technology (M.Tech) degrees, including three dual-degree holders, while 34 candidates received Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in areas like Computational Biology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Human-Centred Design, Mathematics, and Social Sciences and Humanities.
IIIT Delhi Confers Academic Honours and Awards
As per the institute’s press release, several medals and awards were presented to recognise outstanding academic performance. These included the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, Institute Silver Medals, All-Round Performance Medals, Best BTP Awards, M.Tech Excellence Gold Medal, Best M.Tech Thesis Award, and PhD Dissertation Awards.
Dr Anand Deshpande, Founder and Chairman of Persistent Systems, delivered the convocation address, encouraging students to contribute meaningfully to India’s technological and developmental growth. He emphasised that IIIT Delhi’s graduates will play a crucial role in shaping the nation’s technological future and supporting the vision of Swavalambi and Vikasit Bharat.
Director’s Report Highlights Academic Growth
Presenting the Director’s Report for 2024–25, Prof Ranjan Bose, Director of IIIT Delhi, highlighted the institute’s major academic initiatives, new programmes, and ongoing research collaborations. Addressing the graduates, he said, “The experiences you carry from here will shape how you navigate the challenges of tomorrow. Choose paths that excite your intellectual passions and ignite your creativity.”
The convocation marked another milestone in IIIT Delhi’s journey of academic innovation, research excellence, and contribution to technology-driven education in India.
