Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has commenced online registration for the Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology (PGDRPC) Entrance Test 2026 for the July 2026 session. The PGDRPC programme is offered under the School of Social Sciences to prepare trained professionals in rehabilitation psychology, and admissions will be based on performance in this entrance test.

 

Important Dates for IGNOU PGDRPC 2026 Registration

Candidates interested in the PGDRPC Entrance Test 2026 must complete their applications on the Samarth Higher Education Admission Portal available at ignoupgdrpc.samarth.edu.in. The key dates for registration are as follows:

  • Registration start: Now open
  • Last date to apply: 5 March 2026
  • Programme session: July 2026

Applicants are advised to submit their forms before the deadline and upload all required documents to avoid last-minute issues.

 

Eligibility Criteria

As per IGNOU and Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) norms, candidates seeking admission to the PGDRPC programme must meet the minimum educational qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with General Psychology as a subject in all three years from a UGC-recognised university OR
  • A Master’s degree in Psychology or Counselling Psychology from a recognised university
  • Minimum marks: General category – 55 per cent; SC/ST/OBC-NCL – 50 per cent

Applicants are required to check eligibility thoroughly before applying to ensure they qualify for the entrance test.

 

PGDRPC Entrance Test Pattern

Admission to the PGDRPC programme will be determined by performance in the PGDRPC entrance test, which is conducted in offline mode. The examination details are as follows:

  • Total questions: 50
  • Question type: Multiple-choice (MCQs)
  • Maximum marks: 200 (4 marks for each correct answer)
  • Negative marking: 1 mark deduction for each incorrect response
  • Duration: 90 minutes

Candidates should prepare accordingly by focusing on psychology fundamentals and related topics covered under the programme’s syllabus.

 

Application Fee and Programme Fee

To complete the PGDRPC 2026 registration, candidates must pay an entrance test fee of INR 1,000. The total fee for the PG Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology programme is INR 22,000 for the academic session. Reservations for seats will be offered as per Government of India norms for various categories.

 

Final Merit List and Admission Process

After the entrance test is conducted, a region-wise final merit list will be prepared by IGNOU. The merit list will be based on entrance test scores, eligibility criteria, category-wise reservations, and the choice of regional centre selected by candidates during registration. Admission offers will be made from the merit list, and candidates should regularly check the official portal for further updates regarding exam centres, admit card release, and counselling instructions.
