Five students from the ICFAI Business School (IBS) Hyderabad were invited to serve as judges at the All India National Quiz Competition held at Rashtrapati Nilayam, the official Presidential Retreat in Hyderabad, on October 30, 2025, as part of the National Unity Day celebrations.
Event Held to Mark National Unity Day 2025
The quiz was organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, fondly known as the Iron Man of India. Celebrated annually on October 31, National Unity Day honours Patel’s pivotal role in integrating the princely states and uniting India after independence. The event highlighted the spirit of national integration and youth empowerment, aligning with the theme of fostering knowledge and leadership among students across the country.
IBS Hyderabad Students Lead as Judges
In recognition of their academic excellence and leadership, the Rashtrapati Nilayam team invited members of the IBS Messenger student club to serve as the official judging panel for the national-level competition. The five-member team comprised Ganga Prudveshwar, Aditi Sahani, Dristi Khandelwal, Lekha, and Disha, who evaluated and mentored participants throughout the contest. Their selection reflects IBS Hyderabad’s growing reputation for producing students with strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. The quiz drew enthusiastic participation from over 70 colleges across India, showcasing diverse perspectives and encouraging collaboration among students from different regions.
Chief Guest Highlights Role of Youth in Nation-Building
The event was graced by Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, retired IAS officer and founder of the Lok Satta Movement, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Narayan underscored the importance of ethical leadership, good governance, and youth engagement in shaping India’s democratic future. His speech inspired students to take an active role in strengthening national unity and civic responsibility.
Recognition for IBS Hyderabad Students
At the conclusion of the event, the student judges were felicitated by K. Rajani Priya, Officer in the President’s Secretariat, Government of India, for their valuable contribution to the success of the competition. The recognition also underscored ICFAI’s continued efforts to nurture socially responsible professionals who contribute meaningfully beyond the classroom.
