ICAI has announced a revised date for the CA Inter January 2026 Group II Paper 5 examination. The exam will now be conducted on 31 January 2026 across India and abroad.
The decision comes after the CA Intermediate Paper 5 examination was cancelled at all centres due to unforeseen reasons, as notified earlier by the Institute.
CA Inter January 2026 Paper 5 Exam Date Update
The CA Intermediate Group II Paper 5, titled Auditing and Ethics, was originally scheduled to be held on 15 January 2026. The examination was first postponed to 19 January 2026 due to the Municipal Corporation elections in Maharashtra.
However, ICAI issued an important announcement on 17 January 2026, cancelling the examination across all test centres. In a fresh notice released today, the Institute confirmed the new examination date. As per the official announcement, the postponed Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination, Group II, Paper – 5, Auditing and Ethics will now be held on 31 January 2026 across India and abroad.
CA Inter Admit Card Validity and Exam Centres
ICAI has clarified that candidates appearing for CA Inter January 2026 Paper 5 do not need to download a fresh admit card. The admit card issued earlier will remain valid for the rescheduled examination. The exam will be conducted at the same examination centres and at the same timings as previously announced. Candidates are advised to follow all instructions mentioned on the admit card while reporting to the exam centre.
CA Foundation January 2026 Exam Schedule
Meanwhile, the CA Foundation January 2026 examination commenced on 18 January 2026. ICAI has confirmed that the remaining Foundation papers will be conducted as per the original schedule. The remaining CA Foundation January 2026 papers are scheduled to be held on 20 January 2026, 22 January 2026, and 24 January 2026 without any changes.
ICAI Observation Window and CA May 2026 Registration
ICAI has also informed candidates that they can submit observations related to question papers of CA Final, Intermediate, Foundation, and Post Qualification Courses – INTT-AT and IRM for the January 2026 session.
Students can send their observations via email or speed post till 27 January 2026. Additionally, ICAI has announced that registrations for CA May 2026 examinations for Foundation, Intermediate, and Final courses will begin from 3 March 2026. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official ICAI website for further updates related to examinations, registrations, and official announcements.
