IBPS RRB Clerk 2025 Prelims Concludes — Analysis, Cutoffs

The 2025 Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducted the preliminary exam for IBPS RRB Clerk 2025 over four days between December 6 and December 14. According to early feedback, most shifts had easy-to-moderate difficulty, prompting hopeful expectations for candidates. As the prelims phase wraps up, attention now turns toward cutoffs, result timelines, and preparation for the next stage.

Prelims Pattern & Difficulty: What Candidates Experienced

The IBPS RRB Clerk 2025 prelims exam had two sections — Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude, with 80 total questions and a duration of about 45 minutes per shift. Across the first two days (6 and 7 December), feedback indicates the exam remained easy to moderate overall, with Reasoning generally easier than Quantitative Aptitude. For instance, in the Shift 1 exam on 7 December, many candidates reported good attempts in the range of 70–75 questions, suggesting a high attempt-to-accuracy ratio for well-prepared aspirants. The consistent level of difficulty across shifts may help many clear the prelims — but final outcome will depend on accuracy, sectional balance, and overall competition.

Expected Cutoff: What Aspirants Should Watch For

Though official cutoffs have not yet been released, analysts expect the prelims qualifying scores to vary state-wise and category-wise. Early projections based on difficulty and past trends suggest a safe score threshold around 55–65 (out of 80) for general category candidates in many states. However, actual cutoffs may shift based on number of vacancies, number of candidates who appeared, and relative performance across shifts.

What’s Next: Mains, Result Dates, and Candidate Steps

Candidates who qualify prelims will become eligible for the mains exam. The 2025 recruitment drive under IBPS’s regional rural banks aims to fill approximately 13,217 vacancies under this RRB Clerk cycle. Results for prelims are expected by January 2026, followed by mains and final selection stages as per notified schedule. Meanwhile, aspirants are advised to keep their roll number or registration credentials handy to check their result details once declared. Also — revising mains-level topics and improving speed-accuracy can give a strong edge in next phase.

Final Thoughts for Aspirants — What to Keep in Mind

The overall feedback from IBPS RRB Clerk 2025 prelims suggests a fair opportunity for candidates who attempted with accuracy. While easy-to-moderate difficulty is encouraging, competition remains stiff given large number of applicants and limited vacancies. If you attempted the exam: reflect on sectional performance, wait for official answer keys and cutoffs, and start early mains preparation. If not — focus on future notifications. Stay updated as results approach and cutoffs are released.
