HPBOSE Suspends Exam Superintendent After Mass Cheating Allegations

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has suspended an exam centre superintendent and shifted the entire examination venue in Kangra district after video evidence showed alleged widespread cheating during the Class 12 biology exam 2026.

HP Board Takes Action After Viral Evidence

The HP Board initiated disciplinary action after a video clip went viral on social media showing a teacher allegedly dictating answers inside the examination hall during the HPBOSE Class 12 biology exam. The footage prompted multiple complaints from students and parents, leading to immediate scrutiny by board officials. In response to the mass copying allegations, the Board suspended the exam centre superintendent connected with the incident. The exam venue at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Jawali, Kangra has now been shifted to Government Senior Secondary School, Matlahar, as part of the corrective steps taken to ensure exam integrity.

HPBOSE Integrity Violations and Board Regulations

HPBOSE regulations strictly prohibit any form of unfair means during examinations. If an examination centre is found compromised due to malpractice or mass copying, the Board has the authority to suspend officials, change the venue, and take further disciplinary or legal action as per its examination rules. Cases of mass cheating not only undermine student performance but can also lead to cancellation of exam papers, disciplinary action against staff and candidates, and other penalties laid out under the Board’s misconduct guidelines.

HP Board Chair Comments and Further Steps

The Board Chairman confirmed that the suspension and centre relocation were prompted by verified complaints and video evidence indicating repeated irregularities in exam conduct. Officials are also reviewing CCTV footage and reports from invigilators to assess any additional lapses. Authorities have assured further action if investigations reveal the involvement of more staff or systemic failures that compromised the examination’s fairness. Students and parents have been urged to report any similar concerns through official channels.
