A total of 388 posts have been announced across six categories. The Clerk post has the highest number of vacancies, followed by Peon/Orderly and Stenographer Grade-III.

The vacancies include regular, contractual and daily-wage positions. For example, the Clerk recruitment includes 84 regular and 57 contractual posts, while the Peon category includes 69 regular and 20 daily-wage vacancies.

HP High Court Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

The educational qualification depends on the post applied for. Candidates should check the detailed advertisement before submitting the application.

• Clerk: Graduation from a recognised university along with basic computer knowledge.
• Peon/Orderly/Chowkidar/Safai Karamchari: 10+2 from a recognised board.
• Process Server: 10+2 from a recognised board.
• Stenographer Grade-III: Graduation from a recognised university.
• Driver: Matriculation along with a valid LMV driving licence and at least three years of driving experience.
• Court Manager: Graduation with an MBA and three years of relevant experience.

For the Clerk post, candidates must qualify typing tests at 30 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Hindi. The Hindi typing test will use the Kruti Dev-10 font.

The age limit is calculated as on January 1, 2026.

• UR/EWS: 18 to 45 years
• Reserved categories of Himachal Pradesh: 18 to 50 years
• HP Government employees: 18 to 50 years
• Court Manager: 25 to 35 years

The upper-age relaxation for eligible reserved-category candidates is applicable as per the recruitment rules.

The selection process differs according to the post.

For Peon and related Group-D posts, candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio based on their 10+2 marks. Educational qualification carries 85 marks, while document evaluation carries 15 marks.

The salary depends on the post and mode of appointment. Regular posts are placed under the applicable Himachal Pradesh Pay Matrix.

• Court Manager: INR 48,700–1,54,300
• Clerk: INR 20,200–64,000
• Stenographer Grade-III: INR 25,600–81,200
• Driver: INR 21,300–67,800
• Process Server: INR 18,000–56,900
• Peon/Group-D posts: INR 18,000–56,900

Contractual and daily-wage positions will receive remuneration as fixed by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
