Eligibility Criteria for HCO ASO Recruitment 2025
To appear for the ASO recruitment under HCO, candidates must meet the required academic and age criteria. Here are key points:
- Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
- Proficiency in Odia language (reading, writing & speaking) is typically required as per HCO norms.
- Age limit: Generally between 21 and 32 years for direct recruits (subject to category-wise relaxations).
- Selection process consists of Prelims, Mains, Computer Application Test and Viva/Interview.
HCO ASO Recruitment 2025 Application/Selection Process
The recruitment process is as follows:
- Candidates applied online for ASO posts under Advt. No 02/2024 as per the official notification.
- They appeared for the Preliminary Examination held on 4 May 2025.
- A list of candidates qualifying the Prelims was published and such candidates are eligible for the Main Written Examination scheduled on 13 July 2025.
- Post-Mains, candidates will undergo further stages: Computer Application Test and Viva-Voce (if applicable) before final selection.
- The e-Admit Card for the Mains exam is available from 25 June until 13 July 2025 (morning).

- The Mains exam will cover subjects such as English, General Awareness & Reasoning, Mathematics, etc. (as per the schedule published by HCO).
- Schedule for Mains:
- Sitting 1: English – 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
- Sitting 2: General Awareness & Test of Reasoning – 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM. Mathematics – 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
- Mode: The Main Written Examination is in offline (pen-paper) mode as per HCO notification.
- Admit card required: Candidates must download the e-Admit Card from the official portal before exam day.
HCO ASO Recruitment 2025 Result and Further Process
- After the Mains and other subsequent stages (computer test, viva), HCO will release the final merit list of selected candidates.
- Qualified candidates will be appointed to the post of Assistant Section Officer under HCO in Odisha.
- Selected candidates will be placed as per the pay scale applicable (for example, previous scale indicated Rs 35,400-1,12,400 for such posts)
