Gujarat University has released the exam schedule for undergraduate and postgraduate courses under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) and the National Education Policy (NEP). The examinations will be conducted from October 7 to December 20, 2025, covering courses in arts, commerce, science, BBA, and BCA. Approximately 3.5 lakh students are expected to appear.
The university clarified that first-semester exams for students admitted in September will take place in December. Minor changes in exam dates may occur for some courses. Many colleges have already announced internal exam schedules, which will be completed before Navratri.
Admission Concerns
Significant concerns have arisen regarding the admission process. The controversy is linked to the Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS), which has conducted multiple counselling rounds. Currently, over 15,000 seats remain vacant, particularly in the commerce stream.
Student groups have urged the authorities to grant admissions based on merit wherever seats are available. Critics have accused GCAS and the state government of enforcing rigid policies, which could limit access to higher education for many students. Calls for urgent action to resolve the issue are growing louder.
