The Gujarat Teacher Eligibility Test (GTET) 2026 exam dates have been announced with Paper 1 on 15 March 2026 and Paper 2 on 16 March 2026. Shift timings, reporting time and key guidelines are also released for candidates.

GTET Exam Date 2026 Announced; Paper 1 & Paper 2  are Schedule

The Gujarat Teacher Eligibility Test (GTET) 2026 schedule has been officially announced for candidates aspiring to qualify for teaching eligibility in state schools. The examination will be conducted in two separate papers — Paper 1 for primary level and Paper 2 for upper primary level — on 15 March and 16 March 2026 respectively. Aspirants are advised to take note of shift timings, reporting time and exam day instructions to avoid last-minute confusion.

 

GTET 2026 Important Dates and Timings

The examination dates and timings for both papers are as follows:

  • GTET Paper 1 Exam Date: 15 March 2026
  • Timings: 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Reporting Time: Candidates must reach the exam centre by 8:30 AM.
  • GTET Paper 2 Exam Date: 16 March 2026
  • Timings: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
  • Reporting Time: Candidates must reach the exam centre by 1:00 PM.

These timings are final and candidates should comply strictly to avoid entry denial. The test will be held in offline (pen & paper) mode, with all candidates required to follow the dress code and item restrictions issued by the exam authority.

 

Shift Details and Instructions for Aspirants

For GTET Paper 1, which targets teaching positions for Classes 1 to 5, candidates will appear in the morning session and must carry their admit card and valid photo ID. For GTET Paper 2, conducted in the afternoon session, candidates aiming for Classes 6 to 8 teaching eligibility must also bring the required documents and adhere to the reporting time. Before entering the examination hall, candidates will undergo document verification and seat allotment. Mobile phones, smart devices, study material, watches or any electronic gadget will not be permitted inside the exam centre.

 

How Candidates Should Prepare Before Exam Day?

To ensure a smooth examination experience, applicants should:

  • Verify exam date and shift timing on the admit card.
  • Prepare id proof and other admissible documents in advance.
  • Reach the test venue well before reporting time.
  • Follow all COVID-19 safety instructions if applicable.

Early arrival helps avoid last-minute rush and allows adequate time for security checks and document verification.
