New Delhi: The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2026 was conducted on March 7 in computer-based mode at various examination centres across the country. Candidates who appeared for the exam described the overall difficulty level of the question paper as moderate. Based on initial student feedback and expert analysis, the exam covered major subjects from the B.Pharm curriculum, including pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmacognosy, and other allied topics.
CTET Section-wise difficulty level
According to early analysis, the pharmaceutical chemistry section was considered the most challenging among all sections. Other parts of the paper ranged from easy to moderate in difficulty. The section-wise difficulty level reported by students was:
- Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Easy to moderate but relatively toughest
- Pharmacology: Moderate
- Pharmaceutics: Easy to moderate
- Pharmacognosy: Easy to moderate
- Other subjects (analysis, biochemistry, microbiology): Easy to moderate
Many candidates said the exam was concept-based and required a good understanding of pharmaceutical sciences.
Topics asked in the CTET question paper
Questions in the GPAT 2026 exam were asked from various pharmacy-related subjects such as drug synthesis, organic chemistry, biopharmaceutics, microbiology, and pharmaceutical jurisprudence. Some specific topics reported by candidates included:
- Ethambutol
- Sumatriptan
- Antidiabetic drugs
- Vitamin B12 assay
- Complexometric titration
- Gel chromatography
- ICH guidelines
- Cosmetic import regulations
These questions tested both theoretical knowledge and application-based understanding.
CTET Exam pattern and marking scheme
The GPAT 2026 question paper consisted of 125 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 500 marks. Candidates received four marks for each correct answer, while one mark was deducted for every incorrect response. Based on student feedback, a good attempt in the exam was estimated to be around 85 to 95 questions.
CTET Answer key and result timeline
Coaching institutes are expected to release unofficial answer keys soon after the exam based on memory-based questions shared by candidates. The official provisional answer key and response sheet will be released later. The GPAT 2026 result is expected to be announced by April 7, after which candidates can check their scores and qualifying status.
