The Department of Examinations in Sri Lanka has confirmed that the practical component of the 2025 General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A/L) Examination for Bio Systems Technology will begin on 7 February 2026 and continue through 11 February 2026 at 74 exam centres across the country.

GCE A/L 2025 Practical Exam Dates and Centres

According to the official notice, candidates registered for Bio Systems Technology will sit for the practical test over a five‑day window from 7–11 February 2026. Examinations will be conducted simultaneously at 74 designated centres, providing wide geographic coverage for students completing this subject requirement. Practical exams are conducted separately from written papers and assess hands-on competency in the laboratory and applied skills relevant to the subject. Participation and attendance in the practical component are mandatory for qualification and final certification.

GCE A/L 2025 Admission Cards and Candidate Access

Admission cards for school candidates have already been dispatched to their respective school principals for distribution. Registered private candidates have received their hall tickets by post at the residential addresses provided in their applications. Candidates who have not yet received their admission cards can download them from the Department of Examinations’ official website, starting from 2 February 2026, by entering their registration details.

GCE A/L 2025 Next Steps Before and After Practical Exams

Practical examinations form an essential segment of the GCE A/L assessment, contributing to the overall evaluation before final results are released. Students are advised to verify their exam centre, date, and reporting time on the admission card and to arrive at the venue with the necessary materials, including identification and approved laboratory attire or equipment where required. Though earlier in the academic cycle the 2025 GCE A/L written exams were postponed and rescheduled due to adverse conditions, authorities have now completed much of the delayed schedule. Students should follow upcoming announcements from the Department of Examinations for any further timetable updates or result release information.
