IIT Madras has released the GATE 2027 DigiLocker document checklist for candidates preparing to apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027. The GATE 2027 registration dates are yet to be updated on the official website, gate2027.iitm.ac.in. However, candidates can use this time to create or update their DigiLocker account and keep the required documents ready. IIT Madras has made DigiLocker registration mandatory for Indian nationals applying for GATE 2027.

The document requirements vary according to the candidate's category. While General, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates do not need to upload documents to the GATE2027 DigiLocker folder, SC/ST and PwD candidates have specific document requirements.

GATE 2027 DigiLocker: Category-Wise Document Requirements

Candidates applying under the PwD category have additional requirements for the GATE 2027 DigiLocker registration process.

The following file names have been specified:

• PwD Certificate: PWD_CERT.pdf
• Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card: UDID_CERT.pdf
• Appendix-B1: APPENDIX-B1.pdf
• Appendix-B2: APPENDIX-B2.pdf

1. Log in to your DigiLocker account.
2. Go to the Drive section.
3. Select the option to create a new folder.
4. Name the folder GATE2027 without any space.
5. Upload the applicable category documents.
6. Check that the file names follow IIT Madras' prescribed format.
7. Keep the folder ready before starting the GATE 2027 registration process.

Candidates should make sure that the folder name is entered exactly as GATE2027.

Are Class 10, 12 and Degree Mark Sheets Required in GATE DigiLocker?

No. Candidates do not need to upload their Class 10, Class 12, undergraduate or postgraduate mark sheets to the GATE2027 DigiLocker folder.

However, candidates should keep their academic information ready while filling the GATE 2027 application form, as academic details will be required during registration.

This distinction is important because candidates may otherwise assume that all academic certificates have to be uploaded to DigiLocker.
