GATE 2026 Exam Marking Scheme

The IIT Guwahati will follow a prescribed format of the marking scheme while evaluating the GATE 2026 scores.

 

The GATE 2026 Marking Scheme is as follows:

  • For 1 mark MCQs, the candidate will receive 1 mark for each correct answer, whereas for each incorrect answer, ⅓ marks will be deducted.
  • For 2-mark MCQs, the candidate will receive 2 marks for each correct answer, whereas for each incorrect answer, ⅔ marks will be deducted.
  • For MSQ, NAT, and Unattempted questions, there will be no negative marking.
