GATE 2026 registration process has officially started. IIT Guwahati has released the application window on August 28, 2025. Students who wants to take part in the MTech, PhD, or PSU opportunities can now apply through the official portal at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
GATE 2026 Registration Window Opens
IIT Guwahati has started the GATE 2026 online registration process through the GOAPS portal. Students who are eligible can apply till September 28, 2025, without a late fee and till October 9, 2025, with a late fee. The exam will commence on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in two shifts.
- Morning: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Afternoon: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
GATE 2026 Application Fee Structure
The application fee for GATE 2026 has been framed differently based on student categories and exam centres. IIT Guwahati has released the complete fee details, including the fixed charges and late fee provisions, to help students during the registration process
Documents Required for GATE 2026 Registration
Students are required to keep the following documents ready before filling out the form:
- Recent passport-size photograph (as per specifications)
- Scanned signature image
- Valid photo ID proof (to be carried in original during exam)
- Category certificate (SC/ST) in PDF (if applicable)
- UDID/PwD certificate in PDF (if applicable)
- Dyslexia certificate in PDF (if applicable)
Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2026
To apply for GATE 2026, candidates must have completed or be in their final year of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in any of the following fields:
- BE / BTech / BArch / BPharma
- B.Sc (Research/BS) / Agriculture / Forestry / Horticulture
- MBBS / BDS / BVSc
- MSc / MA / MCA
- Integrated ME/MTech/MSc/BS-MS/Dual Degree
- Pharm.D
- Recognised professional society exams equivalent to BE/BTech/BArch
