GATE 2026 registration has begun today, August 28, 2025, at IIT Guwahati. With the introduction of Energy Science (XE-I) under the Engineering Sciences category, the total number of GATE papers has now reached 30. Over the years, GATE has gradually expanded its subject offerings to include modern disciplines such as Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, and Environmental Studies, ensuring better representation of emerging fields.
