GATE 2026 Late Fee Registration Extended: Apply by October 13

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has officially extended the GATE 2026 registration last date with late fee. Candidates can now submit the GATE 2026 application form with late fee till October 13, 2025, through the official portal GOAPS 2026. Aspirants who have not yet completed their registration are advised to apply immediately to avoid missing the opportunity.

 

Steps to Apply for GATE 2026 with Late Fee

The late fee registration process is similar to regular registration. Candidates can follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the official GATE 2026 application portal (GOAPS).
  2. Complete registration to generate the Enrollment ID.
  3. Create a password and fill in personal, academic, and contact details.
  4. Upload scanned documents as per specifications.
  5. Pay the late fee registration amount using debit/credit cards, UPI, or net banking.
  6. Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.

Accepted ID proofs include Aadhar Virtual ID, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License, or any Government-issued ID.

 

Application Scrutiny and Status Updates

Candidates who have submitted the GATE 2026 application form must log in to check their application status. If the status shows “Application under Scrutiny”, it means the officials are reviewing the submitted information.

  • Any discrepancies will be notified via registered email and contact number.
  • Candidates must correct the information within the specified deadline to complete their registration.

 

GATE 2026 Exam Schedule and Correction Window

The GATE 2026 exam is scheduled on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in two shifts:

  • Forenoon: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
  • Afternoon: 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm

After registration, the correction window is expected to open in the first week of November, with the last date to submit corrections on November 6, 2025, as per the information brochure.
