IIT Guwahati has confirmed that the GATE 2026 final answer key has not yet been released and is expected soon. The GATE 2026 result announcement is slated for 19 March 2026 on the GOAPS portal.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has officially confirmed that the GATE 2026 final answer key for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) has not yet been released despite earlier media reports suggesting otherwise. Candidates are advised to wait for the official notification on the GATE portal. According to the conducting authority, the GATE final answer key will be released soon on the official GATE website (gate2026.iitg.ac.in) as well as on the GOAPS portal. The institute has stated that updates regarding the answer key release and the result announcement date will be communicated through these official channels.
Official Clarification on GATE 2026 Final Answer Key Status
IIT Guwahati addressed earlier confusion regarding the GATE 2026 final answer key. While some reports and social media posts indicated that the answer key had been published, the GATE 2026 Chairman reiterated that the final answer key is still pending and will be made available soon. This clarification aims to prevent misinformation and ensure candidates follow only the official portals — gate2026.iitg.ac.in and goaps.iitg.ac.in — for accurate updates.
What GATE 2026 Candidates Should Expect Next?
Candidates who appeared for GATE 2026 — conducted in February — should now focus on awaiting the official release of the final answer key before the results. The final key is critical as it reflects the correct and confirmed answers after considering any challenges raised against the provisional version. Following the release of the final answer key, the authorities will proceed with result preparation, which includes calculating scores, applying normalization (if applicable), and preparing result lists. The GATE 2026 results are expected on 19 March 2026, and candidates will be able to view their scores and download scorecards from the GOAPS portal once released.
Where to Check GATE 2026 Official Updates?
Candidates should regularly check the following official platforms for updates regarding the GATE 2026 final answer key release:
- GATE 2026 official website: gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS): goaps.iitg.ac.in
Official notifications regarding the answer key, result dates, scorecards, and related information will be posted on these portals once available.
