GATE 2026 CE, EE, ME Exams Held Today by IIT Guwahati in Two Shifts

IIT Guwahati is conducting GATE 2026 for CE, EE, ME and other papers on February 14 in two shifts. The morning shift runs from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the afternoon shift is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

GATE 2026 CE, EE, ME Exams Held Today by IIT Guwahati in Two Shifts

The GATE 2026 exam for Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and other papers is being conducted today, February 14, by IIT Guwahati. The examination is being held in two sessions across various centres. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 is taking place in computer-based mode for multiple engineering disciplines.

 

GATE 2026 February 14 Shift Timings

  • Forenoon Shift (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM):
    • Civil Engineering (CE-1)
    • Electrical Engineering (EE)
    • Petroleum Engineering (PE)
  • Afternoon Shift (2:30 PM to 5:30 PM):
    • Mechanical Engineering (ME)
    • Biomedical Engineering (BM)
    • Metallurgical Engineering (MT)

Candidates appearing for the afternoon shift are required to report well in advance to complete entry formalities.

 

GATE 2026 Reporting Time and Entry Rules

Students must reach the examination centre at least 90 minutes before the scheduled test time for biometric verification and document checking. Authorities have clarified that no late entry will be permitted under any circumstances.

 

Documents Required at the Exam Centre

Candidates must carry:

  • GATE 2026 admit card (printed copy)
  • Valid government-issued photo ID proof
  • Transparent water bottle
  • Pen or pencil for rough work

Digital copies of the admit card will not be accepted.

 

Dress Code and Prohibited Items

While there is no officially prescribed dress code, candidates are advised to wear simple and comfortable clothing. Items with metal embellishments such as belts, jewellery or accessories should be avoided. The following items are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall:

  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators and other electronic gadgets
  • Personal belongings such as handbags and wallets
  • Study material or written notes
  • Packed food items

Scribe candidates are permitted to carry approved assistive devices as per guidelines. After completion of both shifts, subject-wise analysis and difficulty level assessments for GATE 2026 CE, EE and ME papers are expected.
