IIT Guwahati will soon activate the GATE 2026 application form correction window on the official GOAPS portal. The facility is available only to candidates who have already submitted their registration forms. This window allows candidates to correct or update key details in their GATE 2026 application.

Expected Dates for GATE 2026 Form Correction

Based on previous years’ trends, the GATE 2026 correction window is expected to open in the last week of October or first week of November 2025. The final date to make changes is tentatively November 6, 2025. Candidates are advised to have their corrected details ready, as the facility will remain active for a limited time.

What Can Be Edited in GATE 2026 Application Form?

Candidates can make changes to the following details during the correction period:

Name
Date of Birth
Choice of exam cities or change in existing city preferences
Adding an additional paper (from the two-paper combination list)
Gender
Category
PwD status

GATE Application Form Correction Fees

The correction fee for GATE 2026 is expected to be INR 500, payable via credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI. Candidates must keep a copy of the payment receipt for future reference.

Steps to Edit GATE 2026 Application Form

Visit the GOAPS portal.
Log in using Enrollment ID and password.
In the dashboard, click on the edit facility option.
Select the fields to be corrected or updated.
Pay the correction fee.
Submit the corrected form and download the acknowledgement copy.

After Form Correction

Once the updated information is submitted, candidates can verify the status of their application through their GOAPS login. It is crucial to review all instructions carefully before submission. Candidates who successfully complete the correction process will be eligible to download their GATE 2026 admit cards from January 2, 2026.
