GATE 2026 Application Correction Window: Last Date, Steps, and Fees

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will soon activate the GATE 2026 correction window on the official website — gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Candidates who completed registration can access the correction facility through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). The correction window allows applicants to edit select details in their form before the final submission. The last date to make edits in the GATE 2026 application form is November 6, 2025, as mentioned in the official information brochure.

The GATE 2026 exam will be held in two shifts across more than 200 cities in India.

 

Steps to Edit GATE 2026 Application Form

Registered candidates can make corrections in their form through the official GOAPS portal. The step-by-step process is given below:

  • Visit the official GATE website — gate2026.iitg.ac.in
  • Click on the GOAPS login link
  • Enter enrolment ID and password
  • Select the “Edit Application” option
  • Make the necessary changes in the relevant section
  • Pay the applicable correction fees
  • Re-login to verify the updated details

 

Details That Can Be Edited in GATE 2026 Form

Candidates will be allowed to edit the following details during the correction period:

  • Gender
  • Category (General/OBC/SC/ST/EWS)
  • PwD status
  • Dyslexia status
  • Communication address
  • Exam paper and test city
  • College name, location, and roll number

However, certain details like candidate name, registration number, and mobile number are not editable.

 

GATE 2026 Correction Fees

IIT Guwahati will announce the correction fee structure along with the official notice. The fees will vary depending on the type of modification requested. Payments can be made through:

  • Debit or Credit Card
  • UPI
  • Net Banking

 

Important Instructions Before Editing

  • Keep the enrolment ID and password ready before login.
  • Review the photo and signature; replace them if required.
  • Ensure all updated details are accurate before submission.
  • Once submitted, further modifications will not be allowed.
