The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) is expected to activate the GATE 2026 answer key challenge window shortly on the official candidate portal. Candidates who appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 will be able to raise objections against the provisional answer key once the link goes live. Earlier, IIT Guwahati released the GATE 2026 provisional answer key, response sheet and master question papers on February 22, 2026.

 

GATE 2026 Answer Key Challenge: Important Dates

Based on previous trends, the GATE 2026 objection window is expected to open between February 24 and February 27, 2026. The challenge facility will remain available only for a limited time.

The GATE answer key challenge link will be activated on the official candidate login portal:

Candidates must log in using their enrollment ID or email ID and password to access the objection facility.

 

Who Can Challenge GATE 2026 Answer Key?

Only candidates who have appeared for the GATE 2026 examination are eligible to challenge the provisional answer key. Objections submitted after the deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances.

 

How to Challenge GATE 2026 Answer Key at GOAPS?

Candidates can follow the steps below to raise objections:

  1. Visit the official GOAPS portal
  2. Log in using GATE credentials
  3. Click on the “Challenge Answer Key” option
  4. Select the question to be challenged
  5. Upload valid justification and supporting documents
  6. Pay the objection fee
  7. Submit and save confirmation for reference

 

GATE 2026 Answer Key Challenge Fees

The GATE 2026 objection fee is expected to be ₹500 per question, as per last year’s guidelines. Candidates may challenge multiple questions by paying the applicable fee for each.

  • UPI
  • Net Banking
  • Credit Card
  • Debit Card

The objection fee is non-refundable, even if the challenge is rejected.

 

What Happens After GATE 2026 Objection Submission?

After the objection window closes, a panel of subject experts will review all submitted challenges. If an objection is found valid, the correction will be reflected in the final GATE 2026 answer key. The final answer key cannot be challenged, and the GATE 2026 result will be prepared strictly based on it. Results are scheduled to be announced on March 19, 2026.
